DAVENPORT, IA – Nong Chatchanok Press, 23, of Iowa City is heading to federal prison for over nine years after a digital trail of horror led investigators to his door. Press was sentenced yesterday to 110 months for receiving and possessing child pornography.
The case began with a CyberTip reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, flagging accounts linked to Press as receiving and uploading sickening content. A December 2023 raid of his Iowa City home and a subsequent February 2025 arrest yielded electronic devices crammed with depravity. Forensic analysis revealed over 117,000 images and 300 videos of child sexual abuse material.
Press isn’t just facing time; he’s been ordered to pay $123,000 in restitution to victims. And there’s no getting out early – federal sentences don’t include parole. He’ll serve a 15-year supervised release after his prison term is complete.
U.S. Attorney David C. Waterman for the Southern District of Iowa announced the sentence. The University of Iowa Police Department handled the investigation as part of the Department of Justice’s ‘Project Safe Childhood’ initiative, a national push to dismantle online child exploitation networks.
