Washington, DC – The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has sent back to Jamaica Kemar Hamilton, a criminal illegal alien who killed Edgar McCalla, a father of seven children in the Bronx, New York. Hamilton was deported after serving a prison sentence for his heinous act.
In 2009, McCalla was shot and killed during a botched robbery outside his home. Hamilton fled with a loaded firearm and left behind a crucial piece of evidence—a cellphone that held no hope for justice until Hamilton’s DNA was matched years later after a traffic stop.
Hamilton had entered the United States in 2008 but was released on his own recognizance by U.S. Border Patrol agents. A year later, he committed the murder for which he was convicted and sentenced to over a decade in prison.
‘Kemar Hamilton should never have been allowed in this country,’ said ICE Deputy Director Charles Wall. ‘Enforcing immigration law is crucial in protecting both Americans and our immigrant communities from such threats.’
ICE officials were processing his removal orders while Hamilton served his sentence, leading to his arrest upon release on October 6, 2025, and ensuring he was deported.
The agency encourages the public to report crimes and suspicious activity by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or completing an online tip form.
