Robert J. Thomas, a 30-year-old from St. Albans, West Virginia, has copped to being a felon with a gun – a Glock Model 27 .40-caliber pistol. He faced court on Jan. 27 for the possession in Kanawha County’s Jefferson area. Despite knowing his firearm rights were revoked due to a prior felony drug charge, Thomas went ahead and held onto this heat-seeking weapon. Scheduled for sentencing in July 2026, he could be looking at up to 15 years behind bars, not to mention fines that could top $250K. The ATF, Kanawha Co. Sheriff’s Office, and South Charleston PD all had a hand in locking him down. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, which has the DOJ flexing its muscles against violent crime.
