Manhattan Dealer Charged in Fatal Fentanyl OD

⏱ 2 min read

Manhattan, NY – Adam Sloan, street-named “Slug,” is facing federal charges after cops say the fentanyl he allegedly peddled killed a New York City resident back on July 15, 2025. The unsealed indictment, announced today by US Attorney Jay Clayton, DEA officials, and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, lays out a case of distribution resulting in death.

Details are tight, but authorities say Sloan supplied the fentanyl that led directly to the victim’s overdose. The case is now before Judge Lewis Kaplan.

“This guy wasn’t selling candy,” said US Attorney Clayton. “He was dealing death. Fentanyl is wrecking this city, and when dealers like Sloan push it, someone pays with their life.”

DEA officials echoed the sentiment, highlighting the ongoing crisis. “The real danger isn’t just the fentanyl, it’s the guys like Sloan who keep flooding our streets with it,” stated a DEA spokesperson. “We’re coming for them.”

NYPD Commissioner Tisch was blunt: “Sloan allegedly sold a lethal dose to someone trying to get their life on track, and now a family is shattered. We won’t tolerate drug peddlers gambling with people’s lives.”

The investigation was a joint effort between the DEA and NYPD. No further details were immediately available.
