Border Blitz: Meth & Coke Ring Falls

⏱ 3 min read

Two Colorado women and a man are facing serious time after a massive drug shipment was intercepted in New Mexico. Reymondo Maldonado, 43, Ebajelina Silva, 41, and Tania Maldonado, 42, allegedly ran a pipeline funnelling meth and cocaine from Mexico through New Mexico starting in November 2023. The operation was finally exposed July 7, 2025, with a traffic stop in Otero County that revealed a shocking cache of narcotics.

Maldonado was driving a trailer packed with 146.7 kilograms of pure methamphetamine and 4.875 kilograms of cocaine, according to court records. He’s already pleaded guilty and is looking at 10 years to life when sentenced. The bust represents a significant blow to the flow of illicit drugs into the country, investigators say.

Silva allegedly orchestrated the pickups and deliveries, while Tania Maldonado handled the financial end – laundering the drug money by sending carefully crafted wire transfers south of the border to avoid raising red flags. Feds tracked the conspiracy using border crossing data, cell phone records, and financial trails, culminating in the Otero County seizure.

Both Silva and Maldonado are currently held without bail, facing charges of conspiracy to distribute narcotics and conspiracy to launder money. If convicted, they could each face a minimum of 10 years, and potentially the rest of their lives, in federal prison. The case is being prosecuted by the Homeland Security Task Force.
