Meth King Gets 20 Years

⏱ 3 min read

Kenny Ray Smith, a 62-year-old from Whitesboro, Oklahoma, is headed to federal prison for two decades after a jury found him guilty of peddling meth. Federal prosecutors say Smith made two separate sales – 27.85 grams on June 27, 2024, and 52.9 grams on July 9, 2024 – to undercover agents from the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The deals went down in Eastern Oklahoma, culminating in the September 4, 2025, conviction.

The investigation, a joint effort between the DEA, OBN, and the District 16 District Attorney’s Office, revealed Smith was no small-time operator. He wasn’t just moving a little weight; the combined 80.75 grams is a significant amount, enough to fuel a wide network of users. Sources say Smith has a long history of drug activity in the region.

U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Wilson didn’t mince words, stating Smith’s “crimes and long history” warranted the hefty sentence. OBN Director Donnie Anderson echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the deadly impact of meth in Oklahoma and pledging continued aggressive targeting of those who profit from the trade. Joseph B. of the DEA said the sentence demonstrates accountability for repeat offenders.

Smith received 240 months – or 20 years – for each of the two counts of distribution, with the sentences to run concurrently. While 20 years won’t erase the damage Smith inflicted, law enforcement hopes it will disrupt the flow of meth into Eastern Oklahoma and send a message to other would-be traffickers.
