Eau Claire’s Nicholas Fisher, 41, is headed to federal prison for 10 years after a spring bust turned up a massive stash of methamphetamine. Judge James Peterson handed down the sentence yesterday, followed by five years of supervised release.
Cops pulled Fisher over May 3rd, 2025, on a routine probation check. What they found wasn’t routine: a whopping 1,322 grams – nearly three pounds – of pure meth, along with the tools of the trade. Fisher copped a plea on December 19th, 2025.
While Fisher’s record stretches back decades, Judge Peterson acknowledged the crimes stemmed from addiction, not escalated violence. Still, dealing that quantity of meth carries a heavy price.
The bust was a joint operation between the Eau Claire Police Department and the DEA, prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Megan Stelljes. The case falls under the DOJ’s “Operation Take Back America,” a broad initiative targeting cartels and transnational crime.
