Peter Nollen Hergenrother Sentenced

Peter Nollen Hergenrother, a 63-year-old resident of Smethport, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 60 months in prison for receiving child pornography. This sentence is a result of his conviction of violating federal laws relating to the sexual exploitation of children.

United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill, Jr. imposed the sentence, which also includes a fine of $36,000. According to information presented to the court, Hergenrother received computer images depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold on behalf of the government. U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton announced the sentence and commended the Pennsylvania State Police for their investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Hergenrother.

The investigation and prosecution of Hergenrother are part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
