PHILADELPHIA – A five-man crew is facing serious time after a federal jury slammed them with convictions today for a reign of terror on Philadelphia streets. Prosecutors laid out evidence linking the group to at least 29 carjackings, two brutal murders, and a scheme to ship stolen vehicles overseas.

The ringleader, 24-year-old Mikal McCracken, a.k.a. “Kal,” wasn’t just stealing cars – he was directly involved in the February 2022 carjacking and killing of a former Marine. The jury found McCracken also conspired to whack a potential witness, and tied him to 20 additional armed carjackings, five of which involved victims being shot or fired upon. One victim was targeted twice, a month apart.

Amin Muse, 24, a.k.a. “Miyn” and “Miyns,” stood alongside McCracken in the Marine’s murder and the witness-killing plot. He was also convicted in connection to eight more armed carjackings, including one where a victim was shot at.

Aleem Abdul-Hakim, 23, a.k.a. “Fatleem,” played a role in the Marine’s murder and five additional armed carjackings. Dean Fosque, 28, a.k.a. “30,” was linked to nine carjackings, three of which involved shootings and one resulting in an injury. Kavon Coleman, 23, a.k.a. “Ski,” was convicted in connection to four armed carjackings.

Prosecutors detailed how the stolen vehicles weren’t just abandoned; they were sold to buyers who shipped them to Africa for resale. Sentencing dates have not been set, but each man faces potentially decades behind bars for their roles in this violent criminal enterprise.
