Predator Back in the Hole: NH Man Faces More Time

⏱ 2 min read

Marc Jacques, 52, of Newbury, New Hampshire, is looking at a potential lifetime behind bars after federal agents found a new stash of child sexual abuse material hidden in his home. The bust came just months after Jacques pleaded guilty to distributing similar content, a sentence he was already serving when the latest violation was uncovered.

Jacques copped a plea on March 18th, netting him a 60-month federal sentence. He was supposed to report to prison December 2nd, but a sharp-eyed U.S. Probation Officer flagged suspicious activity on Jacques’ monitored devices. A search of his Newbury residence turned up an unauthorized thumb drive – and a digital cesspool of depravity.

The feds hauled Jacques back into custody October 18th, immediately restarting his five-year term for the initial offense. But now he’s facing a new indictment that carries a mandatory minimum of 10 years, topping out at 20, plus five years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine. This isn’t just a parole violation; it’s a full-blown second bite at the apple.

Homeland Security Investigations led the investigation, with support from the Department of Justice’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS). As with any indictment, Jacques is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
