Ke-Shawn Rivers, 46, of Dayton, Ohio, is locked up after a March raid turned up a staggering 11 kilograms of fentanyl and cocaine stashed inside a safe in his home. Federal prosecutors say Rivers, also known as “JayZ,” was slinging fentanyl since September 2025. The bust netted more than just drugs; authorities also seized $260,000 in cash and two firearms.
Cops hit Rivers’ Dayton address on March 11th, armed with a search warrant. The initial search uncovered narcotics and a gun, but the real jackpot was inside the safe. Eleven kilos of suspected fentanyl and coke – enough to kill thousands – were packed alongside a hefty pile of cash.
U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II called fentanyl “a direct threat to our national security,” and vowed continued efforts to flood the streets with the deadly opioid. Jared Murphey, acting Special Agent in Charge of HSI Detroit, stated the agency is aggressively dismantling narcotics networks across Ohio and Michigan. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost echoed those sentiments, saying the seized amount “makes Ohio exponentially safer.”
Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck grimly noted the potential for “unimaginable harm” posed by the amount of fentanyl seized. Rivers remains in custody pending trial, facing federal narcotics charges. Details of the indictment weren’t immediately available but sources confirm the investigation is ongoing.
