ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — In a fierce crackdown on organized crime, Alan Daniel Wilson, better known as ‘Al Pill’, has been sentenced to 200 months in federal prison for his role in the drug trade. The grim tally of years was announced today by United States Attorney Melinda Haag and Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge David J. Johnson.
Wilson’s crime spree came to an end on October 23, 2013, when he was nabbed after a harrowing high-speed chase through Antioch streets. At the time of his arrest, the gang member was said to have $14,969 in drug money and 616.4 grams of methamphetamine.
Wilson had been a parolee-at-large when law enforcement caught up with him. His conviction as a ‘Career Offender’ under federal guidelines stems from his multiple prior drug trafficking convictions.
The 39-year-old from Antioch faced the music today, with the Honorable Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers sentencing him to a five-year period of supervised release after his prison term. The judge also ordered Wilson to forfeit his drug proceeds and Chevrolet pick-up truck.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Garth Hire led the prosecution, assisted by Melissa Dorton, with an investigation carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Antioch Police Department.
This sentence sends a stark message about the consequences of engaging in the drug trade within our communities. Wilson’s fall from grace serves as a cautionary tale for those who would dare to challenge the rule of law.
