Ke-Shawn Rivers, 46, known on the streets as “JayZ”, is facing the music after federal agents raided his Dayton home on March 11th and found a serious drug operation. They uncovered eleven kilos of fentanyl and cocaine, alongside a staggering $260,000 in cash. Rivers allegedly ran the operation between September 2025 and January 2026.
The raid wasn’t subtle. Drugs and a handgun were in plain sight, but the bulk of the stash – the eleven kilos of dope and the cash – was locked away in a safe. Another handgun was also recovered. Rivers appeared in federal court yesterday and was ordered held without bail pending trial.
Federal and state officials are predictably crowing about this one. U.S. Attorney Dominick Gerace II called fentanyl a “direct threat to national security” and HSI Detroit’s Jared Murphey emphasized the drug’s devastating impact on communities. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost bragged about taking “pounds off the streets”, while Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck warned the seized fentanyl “had the potential to cause unimaginable harm.”
Rivers is facing serious time if convicted. This bust points to a continuing flow of deadly drugs through Dayton, and authorities are promising more investigations to cut off the supply.
