Free Money Gang’s Houston Terror Ends as 20 Members Face Justice

The Free Money gang’s reign of terror over Houston has come to an end as twenty members and associates were arrested in a massive coordinated law enforcement operation. The suspects, all alleged members of the notorious street gang, are facing federal charges including racketeering conspiracy, murder, attempted murder, Hobbs Act Robbery, and firearm and drug offenses.

According to Assistant Attorney General A. Tysen Duva of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, ‘The Free Money gang terrorized the streets of Houston with drive-by and calculated shootings, often in public places like grocery store parking lots, putting countless lives in danger.’

U.S. Attorney Nicholas Ganjei for the Southern District of Texas (SDTX) vowed to restore peace to the city, stating, ‘Houstonians should be able to live their lives without fear of either themselves or their loved ones being robbed, maimed, or caught in the crossfire of gang warfare.’

Acting Special Agent in Charge Jason Hudson of the FBI Houston Field Office highlighted the scale of the violence, noting, ‘The sheer number of murders and shootings these individuals are suspected of freely carrying out for years is alarming.’ The coordinated arrests were the result of years-long investigations by the FBI Houston team and their partners.

One chilling incident involved Terry Ardoin, 24, and Travonte Ardoin, 28, who were caught on surveillance video following a Chevrolet Equinox into a shopping center parking lot. They opened fire on both individuals inside the store, killing one passenger. Shakeil Anderson, 23, another member of the gang, was also implicated in a shooting incident on August 3, 2022.

This historic bust sends a clear message that the days of Free Money’s lawlessness are over. The gang members now face justice for their crimes against the people of Houston.
