Holts Summit Man Pleads Guilty to Meth Conspiracy

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – In a stunning admission, Justin Raul Sanchez, 48, of Holts Summit, has pleaded guilty in federal court to his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.

The United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, Tammy Dickinson, revealed that Sanchez and an accomplice traveled to Georgia in 2014 to obtain massive quantities of the drug. The duo returned with nearly a kilogram of methamphetamine, concealed in a silver coffee can, destined for Holts Summit.

Tragedy struck when the co-conspirator was detained on U.S. Highway 63, Missouri, following their return trip. State troopers found 27 baggies containing .85 kilograms of meth and a firearm within easy reach during a search.

Law enforcement swiftly turned to Sanchez’s residence where they uncovered two bags of meth, drug paraphernalia, cash, and a ledger detailing his activities. An investigation revealed that the defendant had been selling the drug from his home.

Sanchez faced the full brunt of federal law under today’s plea agreement, with a minimum sentence of five years without parole and a maximum of 40 years. The proceeds of his crime, totaling $7,817, were also forfeited to the government.

This case has been aggressively prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lawrence E. Miller, with investigations led by DEA, LANEG, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jefferson City Police Department, and the MUSTANG Drug Task Force.
