LAS VEGAS – A repeat felon is headed to federal prison for over a decade after a raid on his Vegas home turned up a stash of meth, fentanyl, and enough firepower to arm a small militia. Jason Roon, 38, got 132 months Monday after pleading guilty to drug conspiracy and being a prohibited person in possession of firearms.

According to court papers, Roon was moving serious weight – over 50 grams of meth – between September and October of 2022, and wasn’t shy about keeping records of his debts. When the DEA, FBI, and LVMPD hit his place on October 5th, they found a whopping 606.5 grams of meth, along with “owe” sheets detailing his distribution network.

But the drugs weren’t the half of it. Cops also seized five handguns, including a 9mm with the serial number scratched off – a so-called ‘ghost gun’ – two AR-15 rifles, a .22 rifle, a .380, and tons of ammo. Federal prosecutors had pushed for a longer 151-month sentence.

Roon’s record is lengthy, with prior convictions in both Los Angeles and Ventura County, California, including armed narcotics offenses and receiving stolen property. He’s clearly no stranger to the system.

The bust was a joint operation by the DEA, FBI, and the Las Vegas Metro Police Department. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Sigal Chattah handled the prosecution.
