Mission Woman Indicted for Intent to Distribute Meth

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: A federal grand jury has indicted a Mission, South Dakota woman for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Yolanda Prue, 31, faces up to 20 years in custody and a $1 million fine if convicted.

Prue was indicted on December 14, 2016, and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on December 21, 2016, where she entered a not guilty plea.

The Indictment asserts that Prue knowingly possessed methamphetamine with intent to distribute in South Dakota on May 3, 2016. The charge is an accusation, and Prue is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Investigating the case is the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan N. Dilges handling the prosecution. Prue has been released on bond pending trial, with no set trial date as of yet.

The maximum penalty for this crime includes 20 years in custody, a $1 million fine, at least 3 years of supervised release, and a payment of $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered following conviction.
