Richard Wayne Scott Guilty

Richard Wayne Scott, 40, of Waynesboro, Virginia, has pleaded guilty to methamphetamine distribution in a federal court in West Virginia. This guilty plea is the result of an investigation into a methamphetamine distribution operation that spanned across state lines.

According to the terms of the plea agreement, Scott admitted to traveling from Virginia to West Virginia as part of a methamphetamine distribution operation in February 2016. This interstate travel was done in furtherance of a drug crime, which is a serious federal offense.

Scott pled guilty to one count of “Interstate travel in furtherance of a drug crime.” This charge carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
