SPRINGFIELD, MO – A New York City man is facing a long stretch behind bars after a federal jury found him guilty of flooding Springfield, Missouri with fentanyl and methamphetamine. Ahmaad Jarvis, 39, was convicted on all counts Thursday, ending a trial that began March 17th.
Jarvis was nailed for conspiracy to distribute both meth and fentanyl, plus possession of both with intent to deliver. The DEA started tracking him last October as part of a broader wiretap investigation targeting a major drug trafficking operation. Intercepted calls showed Jarvis planning a run to Los Angeles to score narcotics and bring them back to Springfield.
Cops caught him on October 20th, pulling him over as he drove from the Kansas City area. A search of his vehicle turned up a staggering 10 pounds of methamphetamine and 400 grams of fentanyl. That’s enough poison to kill thousands.
Jarvis was the last of 14 defendants in the case to be convicted. The rest already pleaded guilty. Now, he’s looking at a minimum of 10 years in federal prison, and potentially life without parole. Judge Roseann Ketchmark will hand down the sentence after a probation officer completes a pre-sentence investigation.
