Harrisburg Heroin Pusher Gets 86-Month Lockup

HARRISBURG, PA – A grim day in court saw Anthony Williams, 55, of Harrisburg, slammed with an 86-month sentence for his illegal dealing of prescription painkillers. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania revealed this stern punishment handed down by Judge Yvette Kane.

According to federal prosecutors, Williams was caught in a sting operation on March 9, 2015, selling 50 10 mg hydrocodone pills and again on March 19, 2015, with 60 10 mg oxycodone pills. His arrest came as part of the United States Attorney’s Office-led Heroin Initiative, which aims to crack down on heroin traffickers across Pennsylvania.

Assistant United States Attorney William A. Behe prosecuted the case, while the Harrisburg Resident Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Dauphin County Drug Task Force, and the Harrisburg Police Department investigated it. This coordinated effort is part of a broader strategy to locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who deal in heroin-related offenses.

United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler emphasized the importance of such initiatives in combating the nation’s ongoing opioid crisis. Williams’ sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by individuals caught selling illegal prescription painkillers.

The grim tally of Williams’ crime: 50 hydrocodone pills and 60 oxycodone pills, each a deadly addition to the streets of Harrisburg. His sentence will keep him behind bars for over seven years, but the community’s fight against drug trafficking continues on.
