Jamieson & Brown Indicted in Child Pornography Ring

MALVERN & NORRISTOWN, PA – Two Pennsylvania men are facing decades behind bars following a sweeping federal indictment unsealed yesterday, detailing a sickening pattern of abuse and exploitation of a minor child. Lawrence Jamieson, 57, of Malvern, and John Brown, 25, of Norristown, stand accused of a litany of horrific crimes, including enticing a minor to engage in illicit sexual conduct and manufacturing child pornography.

The forty-two count indictment, announced by Acting United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen, paints a disturbing picture of sustained abuse spanning over eighteen months. Jamieson and Brown allegedly photographed and videotaped the sexual abuse of the minor, then distributed these images and videos. The charges don’t stop there. Brown is also accused of taking sexually explicit photos of a second victim – an infant girl – escalating the depravity of their actions.

Federal investigators discovered the pair also maintained extensive collections of child pornography downloaded from the internet, further solidifying the scope of their depraved interests. Jamieson was transferred from Chester County Prison today, where he was already held on local charges related to the abuse of the minor. His initial appearance was held before Magistrate Judge Elizabeth T. Hey. He will remain in federal custody pending arraignment and a detention hearing scheduled for Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

If convicted on all counts, both defendants face a potential life sentence, including a mandatory minimum of 15 years. The financial penalties are equally staggering. Jamieson could be fined $5,750,000 and assessed $110,100, while Brown faces a $4,750,000 fine and a $90,100 assessment. These are not merely numbers; they represent the gravity of the harm inflicted on vulnerable victims.

The investigation, a collaborative effort between the Willistown Police Department, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, highlights the importance of interagency cooperation in combating these heinous crimes. Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rotella is prosecuting the case, bringing the full force of federal law to bear against these predators.

This case is being pursued under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice aimed at dismantling child sexual exploitation networks. The project mobilizes federal, state, and local resources to identify, apprehend, and prosecute offenders, and to rescue victims. An Indictment is an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. For more information on Project Safe Childhood, visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
