10 Lbs of Meth & Fentanyl: NY Man Convicted

⏱ 2 min read

SPRINGFIELD, MO – A New York man is staring at a long stretch behind bars after a jury slammed him with federal drug charges. Ahmaad Jarvis, 39, was found guilty today of conspiracy to distribute both methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with possession charges for both drugs, following a week-long trial in Springfield.

The case stemmed from a DEA wiretap investigation last October that zeroed in on a large-scale drug operation. Investigators picked up calls showing Jarvis planning a run from New York to Los Angeles to source narcotics, then bring them back to Springfield for street-level distribution.

On October 20th, cops pulled over Jarvis near Kansas City. A search of his vehicle turned up a staggering haul: roughly 10 pounds of methamphetamine and 400 grams of pure fentanyl. It was enough to kill a whole lot of people.

Jarvis was the last holdout. Thirteen co-defendants had already cut deals and pleaded guilty. Now, he’s facing a minimum of 10 years in federal prison, but could easily get life without parole. Judge Roseann Ketchmark will hand down the sentence after the U.S. Probation Office completes its investigation.

The feds didn’t release the name of the prosecutor in this case.
