In a daring daylight arrest, Frank Smith, alias ‘Lauia’, was taken into custody by the Memphis police department on a charge of bank robbery. The alleged thief was apprehended in front of the Ernest Tholen drug store on Poplar Avenue on Friday afternoon, August 27, 1920.
