MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Linda Jean Faries, 31, of Muskogee, is headed to federal prison after receiving a 70-month sentence for her role in a large-scale methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. The sentence, handed down by District Judge James H. Payne, reflects the seriousness of the charges and the damage caused by the drug trade in eastern Oklahoma.
The case, investigated jointly by the Muskogee Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, stemmed from a conspiracy that spanned from November 2012 to April 2013. According to the indictment, Faries knowingly conspired with others to possess with intent to distribute – and ultimately distribute – over 500 grams of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Faries was initially indicted in June 2013 and entered a guilty plea the following month, admitting her involvement in the illicit operation. The investigation uncovered evidence suggesting a coordinated effort to flood the streets with the highly addictive drug, impacting communities throughout the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Assistant United States Attorney Shannon Henson skillfully prosecuted the case, presenting evidence that secured the conviction and ultimately led to the substantial sentence. The 70-month term isn’t simply about punishment; it’s a clear message that those who profit from the misery of others will face severe consequences.
Following the sentencing hearing, Faries was taken into the custody of the United States Marshal Service. She will be transported to a designated federal prison to begin serving her nonparolable sentence. In addition to the prison term, Faries will also be subject to five years of supervised release upon her eventual release.
