Boscawen Oxycodone Kingpin Admits Trafficking

CONCORD, N.H. – Patrick J. Brooks, II, 37, of Boscawen, has admitted to running a long-term oxycodone trafficking operation in the Concord area. Brooks pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to possessing oxycodone with intent to distribute, effectively ending a case that exposed eleven years of alleged drug dealing.

The bust, originating with a series of undercover purchases by a Concord Police detective in June and July of 2016, revealed a clear supply chain leading directly to Brooks. The detective’s investigation showed that an individual selling oxycodone repeatedly identified Brooks as her source. This wasn’t a one-off deal; the informant claimed Brooks had been peddling the highly addictive painkillers for over a decade.

On July 20, 2016, law enforcement brought the operation to a head with a search warrant executed at Brooks’ Boscawen residence. The results were staggering: nearly 2,000 oxycodone pills were seized, along with approximately $20,000 in cash. Crucially, some of that cash was directly linked to the undercover transactions, marked with funds used by the Concord detective during the buys.

Federal prosecutors haven’t been shy about painting a picture of Brooks as a significant player in the local drug trade. The quantity of pills and cash seized suggests a well-established operation, not just casual dealing. While details of the investigation remain sealed, sources indicate the probe involved surveillance and potentially wiretaps to build a solid case against Brooks.

Assistant United States Attorney Bill Morse is prosecuting the case, backed by the collaborative efforts of the Concord Police Department and the Boscawen Police Department. The Concord PD took the lead on the initial investigation, with Boscawen officers providing crucial support during the warrant execution and follow-up. This joint effort highlights the importance of inter-agency cooperation in tackling drug trafficking.

Brooks is now facing sentencing on May 30, 2017. The maximum penalty for possessing oxycodone with intent to distribute could be substantial, leaving Brooks facing a significant stretch in federal prison. The Grimy Times will be in the courtroom when the sentence is handed down, providing full coverage of the outcome.
