SEATTLE – A chilling twist in the aftermath of the May 30, 2020 Seattle riot as Jacob D. Little, a 24-year-old Everett resident, faces federal charges for possession of a stolen firearm from a Seattle Police Department (SPD) vehicle.
Little was apprehended after police surveillance photos and online images linked him to the theft of a Colt M4 rifle equipped with a suppressor. The weapon is still at large.
Seattle Police investigators used both the riot scene footage and public tips to pinpoint Little as the culprit. Images depict him removing a heavy bag from an SPD vehicle outside the downtown Nordstrom store, which was subsequently torched by rioters.
The investigation unearthed electronic messages where Little is seen negotiating the sale of the firearm. He admitted removing accessories like the sling, suppressor, and ‘red dot’ sight from the rifle—all items that were present on the stolen weapon.
Little’s charges are serious: possession of a stolen firearm carries a potential ten-year sentence and a $250,000 fine.
The case against Little is being jointly investigated by the Seattle Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF), with support from the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force and the United States Marshals Service. Assistant United States Attorney Kate Crisham is handling the prosecution.
