Henry Jean-Lord Sentenced

A Brooklyn, New York man was sentenced in federal court yesterday for distributing heroin and cocaine base, U.S. Attorney Darcie N. McElwee announced. Henry Jean-Lord, aka “Doughboy” and “Doe Boi,” 34, was sentenced to 33 months in prison and three years of supervised release.

Chief U.S. District Judge Jon D. Levy handed down the sentence after Jean-Lord pleaded guilty in April 2021. According to court records, Jean-Lord sold heroin to a confidential informant in March 2015 and heroin and cocaine base to another confidential informant in October 2018.

Evidence presented at the sentencing revealed that Jean-Lord had been trafficking cocaine base in Maine since as early as 2005, and heroin since at least 2015. The scope of his operation and the length of time he was involved in drug trafficking are a testament to the ongoing struggle to combat organized crime in the state.

The Portland and South Portland police departments, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI investigated the case. This effort is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach.

The sentencing of Henry Jean-Lord is a significant victory for law enforcement in Maine. It demonstrates the commitment of federal and local authorities to working together to take down major players in the drug trade. The use of confidential informants and careful gathering of evidence were key to building a strong case against Jean-Lord.

For those affected by drug trafficking in Maine, the sentencing of Henry Jean-Lord may bring a sense of relief. However, it also serves as a reminder that the war on drugs is ongoing. As law enforcement continues to work to dismantle organized crime rings, residents can play a crucial role by reporting suspicious activity and supporting efforts to combat drug trafficking.

The OCDETF program has been instrumental in taking down major drug traffickers across the United States. Additional information about the OCDETF Program can be found at www.justice.gov/OCDETF. As the program continues to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape of organized crime, it remains a vital tool in the fight against drug trafficking.
