A Charleston man has been sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking organization.
Robert Dewayne Miller, 36, of Charleston, was sentenced today to 6 years and 6 months in prison, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Miller participated in the conspiracy from October 2022 to January 2023 and was responsible for over 2 and a half pounds of methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Miller distributed quantities of methamphetamine supplied by co-defendant Alexandria Jasmine Estep, who acquired pound-level quantities of methamphetamine from co-conspirator Jasper Wemh.
Miller, Estep and Wemh are among 32 individuals indicted as a result of Operation Smoke and Mirrors, a major drug trafficking investigation that has yielded the largest methamphetamine seizure in West Virginia history.
Law enforcement seized well over 400 pounds of methamphetamine as well as 40 pounds of cocaine, 3 pounds of fentanyl, 19 firearms and $935,000 in cash.
Estep, 22, of Charleston, was sentenced on February 22, 2024, to 4 years and 2 months in prison, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Wemh, 39, of Charleston, pleaded guilty on March 30, 2023, to conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and awaits sentencing.
The investigation was part of the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), which was established in 1982 to conduct comprehensive, multilevel attacks on major drug trafficking and money laundering organizations.
