Meth Traffickers Racked Up 54 Years in the Slammer

FAYETTEVILLE, AR – A tangled web of methamphetamine distribution in Northwest Arkansas has been brought to its knees, with the final member of a Fayetteville group receiving a hefty sentence for their crimes.

The Honorable Judge Timothy L. Brooks presided over the sentencing hearings in the United States District Court in Fayetteville, where the fate of the group was sealed. According to court documents, agents with the 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force initiated an investigation into a drug trafficking organization operating out of the Fayetteville Division in October 2022.

The investigation, which lasted several months, identified five individuals responsible for distributing large quantities of methamphetamine throughout the Western District of Arkansas. Those members of the drug trafficking organization indicted federally have been sentenced as follows:

  • Joe Chantharath, 42, Springdale, Arkansas – Distribution of a Mixture or Substance Containing a Detectable Amount of Methamphetamine – 135 months imprisonment and 3-year term of supervised release, plus an additional 24-month term of imprisonment to run consecutively to new sentence as a consequence of his federal supervised release being revoked.
  • Anthony Chantharath, 35, Springdale, Arkansas – Possession of a Mixture or Substance Containing a Detectable Amount of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute – 137 months imprisonment and 3-year term of supervised release.
  • Kevin Michael Burke, 37, Bryant, Arkansas – Distribution of a Mixture or Substance Containing a Detectable Amount of Methamphetamine -235 months imprisonment and 3-year term of supervised release.
  • Ryan Seth Bruce, 35, Clinton, Arkansas – Distribution of a Mixture or Substance Containing a Detectable Amount of Methamphetamine– 72 months imprisonment and 3-year term of supervised release.
  • Destiny DeAnne Satterfield, 25, Springdale, Arkansas – Possession of a Mixture or Substance Containing a Detectable Amount of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute – 77 months imprisonment and 3-year term of supervised release.

U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes of the Western District of Arkansas made the announcement, praising the efforts of the 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Eaton, who prosecuted the case.

The total combined sentence for the group is 54 years and 6 months in federal prison. The group’s crimes have left a lasting impact on the community, and this sentence serves as a reminder of the consequences of such actions.
