NINE FLORIDA TRAFFICKERS LOCKED UP FOR LIFE

Grimy Times exclusive reports that nine Florida individuals have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in a multi-kilogram cocaine and methamphetamine distribution operation. The multi-agency investigation, which lasted two years, spanned from Central Florida to Arizona and California.

The defendants were found guilty by a jury or pleaded guilty for their role in the conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and related offenses. Luis Miguel Hernandez, 36, of Phoenix, AZ, was sentenced to 9 years and 1 month for distributing 500 grams of methamphetamine and 5 kilograms of cocaine. Hernandez pleaded guilty on August 10, 2023.

Saul Sandoval, 41, of Phoenix, AZ, was sentenced to 10 years for distributing 500 grams of methamphetamine. Sandoval pleaded guilty on December 27, 2023. Zara Mascarella, 20, of Palm Coast, FL, was sentenced to 5 years for distributing 500 grams of methamphetamine and 500 grams of cocaine. Mascarella pleaded guilty on September 12, 2023.

Camarie Shavers, 24, of Bunnell, FL, was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months for distributing 500 grams of cocaine. Shavers pleaded guilty on September 20, 2023. Alfred L. Shavers, 50, of Bunnell, FL, was sentenced to 16 years for cocaine distribution and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Shavers was convicted by a jury on February 23, 2024.

Jimmie Lee Bizzell, 53, of Bunnell, FL, was sentenced to 6 years for distributing 500 grams of methamphetamine. Bizzell pleaded guilty on September 18, 2023. Wendell Ferreira, 42, of Berlin, CT, was sentenced to 2 years and 9 months for distributing 500 grams of methamphetamine and 5 kilograms of cocaine. Ferreira pleaded guilty on January 31, 2024.

Tyrone Jones, 56, of Palm Coast, FL, was sentenced to 10 years for distributing 500 grams of methamphetamine (two counts) and 50 grams of methamphetamine. Jones was convicted by a jury on February 23, 2024. The investigation, which began in 2022, resulted in the seizure of 44.54 kilograms of methamphetamine, 2.72 kilograms of cocaine, and nine guns.
