Stilwell Man Admits to Child Exploitation Material

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Geoff Edward Luethje, 46, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, has confessed to a sickening crime: possessing material depicting the sexual exploitation of children. The Eastern District of Oklahoma U.S. Attorney’s Office confirmed Luethje entered a guilty plea to one count of Possession of Certain Material Involving the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

According to the indictment, between April and August of 2023, Luethje didn’t just have the depraved images – he actively sought them out. The charges detail that Luethje knowingly possessed, and accessed with the intent to view, visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Disturbingly, the indictment specifically includes depictions of children under the age of twelve.

This wasn’t a random discovery. The case unfolded thanks to a joint investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Residence Agencies, working out of both Atlanta, Georgia, and right here in Muskogee, Oklahoma. These agents painstakingly built the case against Luethje, uncovering the digital evidence that led to this plea.

U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow accepted the guilty plea and has ordered a presentence investigation report to be completed. This report will delve into Luethje’s background and history as the court determines an appropriate sentence. Don’t expect a slap on the wrist; these crimes carry significant penalties.

Luethje is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service, where he will remain until sentencing. Assistant United States Attorney Caila M. Cleary skillfully prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and report on the sentencing when it is announced. This is a stark reminder of the predators lurking in our communities and the vital work of law enforcement to protect the most vulnerable.

The details of this case are disturbing, and serve as a grim warning. Anyone with information about suspected child exploitation is urged to contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children or their local FBI field office immediately. Silence only protects the abusers.
