Lincoln Meth Dealer Gets 10 Years

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA – Carlos Aldalberto Hernandez, Jr., 31, is headed to federal prison after being sentenced for his role in a Lincoln methamphetamine distribution ring. U.S. Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced that Hernandez received a 120-month sentence – ten years – from United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis on July 24, 2025. Forget parole; in the federal system, Hernandez will serve every single day.

The bust began to unfold in April and May of 2024, when a confidential informant repeatedly purchased methamphetamine from two of Hernandez’s housemates. These weren’t small deals either – transactions ranged from a quarter ounce to a half ounce at a time. The final purchase occurred on May 6, 2024, and immediately after, law enforcement descended on the residence with a search warrant.

Investigators didn’t have to look far. In Hernandez’s bedroom, they found a cardboard box stuffed with 14 baggies of methamphetamine. Smaller stashes were scattered throughout the house, bringing the total haul to approximately 610 grams – over a pound of the highly addictive drug. One of Hernandez’s co-conspirators was also found to be carrying an additional half ounce in his vehicle. Three of the baggies were tested and proved to contain at least 170 grams of pure methamphetamine.

The evidence painted a clear picture. A cooperating witness stepped forward to confirm Hernandez had only been living at the house for about six weeks, but quickly established himself as the primary source of methamphetamine for the other residents. He wasn’t just a user; he was a supplier, moving significant quantities of the drug through the Lincoln streets.

Hernandez’s conviction is the result of a meticulous investigation conducted by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Drug Task Force, a unit dedicated to dismantling drug operations in the area. This case serves as a harsh reminder that dealing meth, especially in these quantities, comes with severe consequences. After serving his sentence, Hernandez will face another five years under supervised release, a constant reminder of his crimes.

The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and report on the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Nebraska and across the nation. This isn’t just about one man going to prison; it’s about chipping away at the networks that poison our communities. Expect further updates as they become available.
