Ashdown Predator Gets 30 Years for Sickening Abuse

ASHDOWN, AR – Aaron Lloyd Mitchell, of Ashdown, Arkansas, will spend the next three decades behind bars after being sentenced for producing and distributing horrific images of a five-year-old girl. The sentence, handed down by Chief Judge Susan O. Hickey, reflects the gravity of Mitchell’s crimes and sends a clear message: those who prey on children will face severe consequences.

The case began in November 2018 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children flagged a series of disturbing images uploaded online. The images depicted the sexual abuse of a young girl, immediately triggering a federal investigation led by the FBI’s Texarkana field office. Investigators quickly zeroed in on Mitchell as the source of the depraved content.

A subsequent raid on Mitchell’s home on November 21, 2018, yielded further evidence of his sickening activity. Confronted with the proof, Mitchell confessed to creating and uploading the images. He was indicted in December 2018 on multiple charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor and ultimately pleaded guilty in June 2019.

Federal prosecutors, led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Dustin Roberts, secured the 360-month sentence, along with an additional 20 years of supervised release. U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes of the Western District of Arkansas announced the sentencing, emphasizing the commitment of law enforcement to protecting vulnerable children.

This case is a stark reminder of the dark underbelly of the internet and the predators who lurk within it.
