Bombing Kills Woman

⏱ 2 min read

A brutal bombing in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, killed a woman in October 2019, and now the mastermind behind the attack has been found guilty. Clint Addleman, 49, was convicted of possession of an unregistered destructive device, conspiracy to maliciously destroy property by explosive or fire, and other charges related to the bombing and a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. The bombing occurred on October 4, 2019, when a package containing a bomb was left outside the victim’s apartment door, and it detonated later that morning, killing the victim and destroying the building. The motive was a $1,000 meth debt the victim owed Addleman.

The evidence presented during the seven-day trial established that Addleman and his co-defendant, Kris Nevling, constructed and possessed the bomb, which was concealed inside a package addressed to the victim using her nickname. The jury also determined that the victim’s death was a result of the commission of the conspiring to maliciously destroy and malicious destruction of property by explosive or fire offenses.

Addleman was tried before United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and the jury deliberated for only two hours before returning a guilty verdict on March 18, 2026. Addleman’s sentencing is scheduled for July 22, 2026, and he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both.

The case was investigated by the FBI, ATF, and other law enforcement agencies, and it highlights the dangers of methamphetamine distribution and the violent consequences that can result from these crimes. Addleman’s conviction brings some measure of justice to the victim and her family, but it also serves as a reminder of the devastating impact of violent crime on communities.
