Buffalo Man Sentenced for Crack Cocaine Distribution

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Isaiah Washington, a 46-year-old Buffalo man, has been sentenced to 46 months in prison for distributing crack cocaine, announced U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. today.

Washington was convicted of the crime after he was arrested along with co-defendants Mashi Phillips and Rayshawn Minter in March 2013. The group distributed quantities of cocaine in various parts of Buffalo, including French Street and Box and Glenwood Avenues.

Between November 2012 and March 2013, Washington and his co-defendants sold cocaine or crack cocaine. Rayshawn Minter, another defendant in the case, was sentenced to 100 months in prison in August 2014. Mashi Phillips is set to be sentenced on February 2, 2015.

The sentencing was the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Buffalo Police Department. The investigation was led by Special Agents of the DEA, under the direction of Acting Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt, New York Field Division.

The investigation highlighted the ongoing issue of crack cocaine distribution in Buffalo, a problem that continues to plague the community. Law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to combat this issue and bring those responsible to justice.
