MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Marco Antonio Naranjo-Aguilar, a 30-year-old Sacramento, California resident, has been sentenced to 235 months in prison for his role in a major methamphetamine trafficking operation.
The sentence was handed down by The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, after Naranjo-Aguilar pleaded guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine on January 9, 2023.
The investigation into Naranjo-Aguilar’s activities began on January 20, 2022, when the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Drug Enforcement Administration joined forces to apprehend the defendant after he led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit on Oklahoma Interstate Highway 40 in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma.
During the pursuit, officers seized approximately 22.3 kilograms of methamphetamine from Naranjo-Aguilar’s vehicle, a staggering haul that highlights the severity of the defendant’s crime.
Naranjo-Aguilar’s arrest and subsequent sentencing mark a significant victory for law enforcement in their ongoing battle against methamphetamine trafficking in the region.
Assistant United States Attorney Joshua Satter represented the United States in the case, working tirelessly to bring Naranjo-Aguilar to justice for his crimes.
