California Man Pleads Guilty to Creating Child Pornography

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Loren Glen Warner, a 28-year-old man from Fresno, California, pleaded guilty in federal court to producing child pornography.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York, Warner met a 14-year-old girl at her family’s church in Cattaraugus County and began communicating with her on Facebook and Snapchat. Over the course of several months, Warner made sexual references and statements to the girl, and sent her explicit images of himself. The defendant also asked for and received nude photographs of the girl.

Warner also met a 13-year-old girl at a church in Fresno, California, and over several years, he requested and received child pornography images and videos from her.

In March 2017, Warner pleaded guilty to Rape in the Second Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor in Cattaraugus County Court and was sentenced to seven years in prison. However, the federal charges carry a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years, a maximum of 30 years, and a $250,000 fine.

The plea is the result of an investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Kevin Kelly; the New York State Police, under the direction of Major Edward Kennedy; and the Cattaraugus County District Attorney’s Office, under the direction of Lori Rieman.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 25, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. before Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango is handling the case.
