Delton Williams Jr. Pleads Guilty to Meth Conspiracy

Delton Williams Jr., a 29-year-old from Deberry, Texas, pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in the Shreveport, Louisiana area. The plea, entered before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark L. Hornsby, marks a key development in a cross-state drug operation that law enforcement dismantled in May 2016.

Williams admitted to transporting methamphetamine from Texas to Greenwood, Louisiana, for co-defendant Tares Terrell Hearn, 37, of Carthage, Texas. On May 10, 2016, Hearn orchestrated a planned meth sale at a gas station in Greenwood. Surveillance showed Williams arriving first in a Cadillac Escalade, later seen with Hearn exiting the vehicle carrying a concealed package.

As Hearn was arrested at the scene, Williams fled to an adjacent business where Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies apprehended him. Both men were found in possession of large sums of cash. Hearn was caught with a significant quantity of methamphetamine—clearly not for personal use—linking him directly to distribution.

According to court documents, the operation was a coordinated effort: Williams acted as the transporter, moving the drug stash from Texas into Louisiana for Hearn to sell. The DEA and local law enforcement confirmed the two men were running a tight, high-volume trafficking ring with clear division of roles.

Both Williams and Hearn face up to 20 years in federal prison, a minimum of three years supervised release, and a $1 million fine. Hearn pleaded guilty on September 9, 2016, and is scheduled for sentencing January 12, 2017. Williams’ sentencing is set for February 1, 2017, pending final approval of his guilty plea by U.S. District Judge S. Maurice Hicks Jr.

The investigation was conducted jointly by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown is prosecuting the case, underscoring federal crackdowns on interstate drug networks feeding addiction and violence in communities across the region.
