Eddy Antonio Perdomo, a 31-year-old Dominican national, has pleaded guilty to unlawfully reentering the United States after deportation, in a federal court in Boston.
Perdomo, who was residing in Lawrence, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien. This charge carries a sentence of up to two years in prison, one year of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Perdomo was deported from the United States to the Dominican Republic on October 3, 2023. However, he illegally reentered the country without permission sometime after his removal.
The guilty plea was announced by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley, along with Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston, and Lawrence Police Chief Maurice Aguiler. Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus of the Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.
Perdomo’s sentencing has been scheduled for August 6, 2025, by U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris. Upon completion of any sentence imposed, Perdomo will be subject to deportation.
The case against Perdomo was indicted by a federal grand jury in June 2025. His guilty plea marks a significant development in the ongoing efforts to combat immigration crimes in the region.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office and law enforcement agencies involved in the case are working to ensure that individuals who unlawfully reenter the country after deportation are held accountable for their actions. Perdomo’s case serves as a reminder of the consequences of violating U.S. immigration laws.
