Forest Man Pleads Guilty to Meth Possession

Jimmie Terrell Harrison, 43, of Forest, Mississippi, has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to investigators, on March 2, 2018, a box shipped via FedEx to an address in Forest was found to contain nearly 10 pounds of methamphetamine. The box was delivered to the house next door to Harrison’s, and he then picked it up and brought it to his own residence.

Agents searched Harrison’s home and found cocaine and two firearms. The methamphetamine recovered was intended for distribution in the central Mississippi area.

The case is the result of an extensive Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation, dubbed Operation Highlife. This operation targeted illegal narcotics distribution in the east central Mississippi area, involving the distribution of methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana.

The distribution network spanned multiple states, including California, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi.

“Methamphetamine has devastated countless communities due to the dramatic health and public safety consequences that typically accompany its introduction into an area,” said Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations New Orleans Jere T. Miles.

Harrison faces a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $10 million fine. He is scheduled to be sentenced on January 9, 2019, at 9:00 a.m.

The investigation was a joint effort between the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, with assistance from various local law enforcement agencies.
