Fort Wayne Tax Cheat ‘Molly’ Admits to IRS Fraud

FORT WAYNE, IN – Frankie Williams, known on the streets as “Molly,” has admitted to knowingly defrauding the Internal Revenue Service. The Fort Wayne tax preparer pleaded guilty to counts 3 and 4 of a federal indictment, confessing to submitting false claims for payment connected to bogus tax returns. The plea, entered before a Magistrate Judge, is currently under review by the District Court.

The case isn’t an isolated incident. This bust is part of a larger network of fraudulent activity. Co-defendant Cavasierre Russell, a/k/a “Vassi,” previously pleaded guilty in June 2016 to a similar charge – submitting a false claim on a fraudulent return. Russell was sentenced to six months behind bars and slapped with a $45,983 restitution order payable to the IRS. The feds are squeezing these operators for every dime.

The ripple effect of this scheme extends further. Ronald Ward, also charged in a separate indictment, copped a plea in August 2016, earning himself 12 months and a day in prison, alongside a $48,311 restitution bill to the IRS. And Cassandra Ward, a/k/a “Kitten,” wasn’t spared either. She pleaded guilty in March 2016 and received five years of probation, plus a hefty $112,078.64 restitution order covering both the IRS and the Social Security Administration.

Investigators say the scheme involved systematically filing false returns to illegally obtain refunds. The exact scale of the fraud remains unclear, but the restitution totals alone suggest a substantial loss to taxpayers. This wasn’t a simple mistake; this was a calculated effort to line pockets at the expense of honest citizens.

The investigation was a joint effort by the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division, and the Social Security Administration, Office of Inspector General. Assistant United States Attorneys Lovita Morris King and Deborah M. Leonard are prosecuting the case. A sentencing hearing for Williams will be scheduled pending the District Court’s acceptance of the guilty plea. Expect more shoes to drop.

If the District Court accepts the guilty plea, Williams will face sentencing at a later date. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and report on any further developments. This is a stark reminder that even seemingly ‘white collar’ crimes carry serious consequences – and that the IRS is watching.
