A Fresno man is headed to the big house after being caught with a loaded ‘ghost gun’ on a city bus, authorities said Thursday.
Felipe Macias, 28, was spotted with the grip of a firearm sticking out of his waistband on a Fresno city bus in August 2024.
Undercover cops swooped in on Macias at a local smoke shop, where they found a black ‘ghost gun’ – a privately made, unserialized firearm – loaded with a high-capacity magazine. Macias was a convicted felon on post-release community supervision at the time.
He pleaded guilty to the charges on September 29, 2025, and was slapped with a 6-year, 5-month prison sentence.
The Fresno Police Department, Selma Police Department, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives led the investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Veneman-Hughes handling the case.
