Hernandez-Coronado’s $1M Cocaine Empire Crumbles

A 42-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, has been brought to justice for his role in a massive cocaine trafficking operation that raked in over $1 million in revenue.

Hernandez-Coronado, who pleaded guilty to the charges, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and up to life behind bars.

According to court documents, the investigation into Hernandez-Coronado’s operation began in 2023, when authorities discovered that he was using the dark web to purchase cocaine from suppliers in Mexico.

Over the course of the investigation, authorities seized over $1 million in cash, as well as several kilograms of cocaine, from Hernandez-Coronado’s properties.

In a statement, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas said, ‘The guilty plea by Hernandez-Coronado is a significant blow to the cocaine trafficking ring and sends a clear message to those involved in this type of activity: we will do everything in our power to bring you to justice.’

When asked for comment, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice said that the case was a prime example of the department’s commitment to disrupting and dismantling major cocaine trafficking operations.

Hernandez-Coronado is set to be sentenced on May 15, 2024, and will be represented by attorney Jameson P. Fagan.

The case is a result of an investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
