Honduran National Indicted for Illegal Reentry

A 24-year-old Honduran national is in hot water after allegedly breaking into the United States for the second time, landing him an indictment for illegal reentry.

Doanin Reyes-Diaz, a 24-year-old Honduran national, was indicted by a federal grand jury in the Middle District of Pennsylvania after allegedly returning to the country without permission.

According to the indictment, Reyes-Diaz was previously removed from the United States on September 3, 2019, through Brownsville, Texas. However, he was allegedly found in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, on March 16, 2024, without having obtained legal permission to reenter the country.

The case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations, with Assistant United States Attorney Stephen Dukes handling the prosecution.

The maximum penalty for this offense carries a two-year imprisonment term, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine. A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
