Jasmine Perry, 26, of New Orleans, was found guilty on multiple counts including murder-for-hire and racketeering in a high-stakes federal trial that laid bare the violent operations of the 39’ers gang. After six weeks of testimony, a federal jury convicted Perry in the murders of Kendall Faibvre and Gregory Keys, cementing her role in a sprawling criminal enterprise that terrorized neighborhoods across the city.
The verdict, announced by U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite, also convicted co-defendants Leroy Price, 31; Ashton Price, 25; Alonzo Peters, 27; McCoy Walker, 26; Terriones Owny, 30; Evans Lewis, 25; Curtis Neville, 24; Solomon Doyle, 31; and Damian Barnes, 28. All were tied to the 39’ers through a RICO conspiracy charge carrying a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, $250,000 in fines, and three years of supervised release.
Perry was specifically found guilty in Count 4 of murder in aid of racketeering for the killing of Kendall Faibvre—a conviction that brings a mandatory life sentence. She was also convicted on firearm and assault charges related to the attack on Jasmine Jones, including causing death through use of a firearm and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering, each carrying up to life or 20 years in prison.
Leroy Price, 31, was convicted in the murders of Lester Green, Donald Daniels, Elton Fields, and Michael Marshall. His brother, Ashton Price, 25, was found guilty in the deaths of Faibvre and Marshall. McCoy Walker, 26, was found guilty in three murders including Jerome Hampton and Renetta Lowe, while Owny, 30, was tied to five killings including Green and Hampton. Evans Lewis, 25, and Curtis Neville, 24, were both found guilty in the murder of Littlejohn Haynes.
The convictions extend beyond murder. Six defendants—Leroy Price, Ashton Price, Peters, Walker, Neville, and Barnes—were found guilty of conspiring to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin and 280 grams or more of cocaine base, exposing the gang’s deep drug trafficking operations. Additionally, eight of the ten, including Perry and both Prices, were convicted of firearm conspiracy charges, each facing up to 20 years in prison.
Sentencing hearings will proceed in the coming weeks, with many defendants facing mandatory life terms. The trial marks a significant blow to the 39’ers, a violent New Orleans street gang long linked to organized drug sales and retaliatory killings. Federal authorities say the convictions dismantle key leadership and send a message: racketeering empires built on blood will not stand.
