Jeimil Henderson Faces Crack Charges

Jeimil A. Henderson, a 22-year-old Medina man, has been indicted on federal charges of possession with the intent to distribute and distribution of crack cocaine, according to Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.

The indictment, returned by a federal grand jury, is the result of an investigation conducted by the Medina County Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Henderson was arrested on a criminal complaint and will face the charges in federal court.

Henderson’s arrest and indictment are a significant blow to crack cocaine distribution in Medina County. The investigation that led to the indictment was a joint effort between the Medina County Drug Task Force, the Medina Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

If convicted, Henderson’s sentence will be determined by the Court after review of factors unique to this case, including the defendant’s prior criminal record, if any, the defendant’s role in the offense and the characteristics of the violations. In all cases, the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and, in most cases, it will be less than the maximum.

The matter is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Teresa Riley. An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The investigation and indictment of Jeimil Henderson demonstrate the commitment of federal and local law enforcement to combating crack cocaine distribution and related crimes in Medina County. The case will now proceed to trial, where the government will seek to prove Henderson’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The community can be assured that law enforcement will continue to work tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle crack cocaine distribution networks in the area. The collaboration between federal and local agencies has been instrumental in bringing Henderson to justice and will continue to be a vital component in the fight against crack cocaine and other illicit substances.
