A Shreveport man has been slammed with 168 months in federal prison for dealing methamphetamine inside a Bossier City casino, turning a gambling floor into a narcotics marketplace. Kenvalleno Dixon, 33, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of methamphetamine, marking the end of a case that exposed the brazen reach of drug operations into public venues.
Dixon was sentenced Tuesday by U.S. District Judge S. Maurice Hicks Jr., who handed down the 14-year prison term followed by five years of supervised release. The sale occurred on June 25, 2015, when Dixon met an individual in the casino lobby before escorting them to a ninth-floor room where he sold 26.6 grams of meth for $900. He was not employed by the casino, authorities confirmed.
According to court documents filed July 11, 2016, Dixon was identified as a key seller within a larger methamphetamine trafficking ring operating around the Bossier City establishment. Surveillance and investigative work revealed patterns of movement and communication that tied him directly to the transaction, placing him at the center of a network exploiting the transient nature of casino visitors.
The Drug Enforcement Administration led the investigation, peeling back layers of coordination among dealers using high-traffic entertainment zones as cover. Dixon’s decision to conduct business in such a visible location underscores the audacity federal agents say has become common in regional drug operations.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown prosecuted the case, emphasizing the danger of normalizing drug trade in spaces meant for recreation and leisure. “This wasn’t a back-alley deal,” Brown stated in court. “It was a calculated transaction in a public space, showing blatant disregard for law and public safety.”
Authorities warn that venues like casinos remain vulnerable to exploitation by traffickers seeking anonymity. Dixon’s conviction serves as a stark reminder that federal oversight extends beyond traditional crime hotspots — and that selling meth in plain sight comes with a steep price.
