Leticia Martinez Garza Sentenced

At the time, Garza was employed as a Laundry, Property and Supply Supervisor at the GEO Corrections Val Verde Correction facility in Del Rio.

The case against Garza was the result of a joint investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Marshals Service, and Homeland Security Investigations. The investigation uncovered the disturbing details of Garza’s abuse of power and exploitation of an inmate under her care.

United States Attorney Richard L. Durbin, Jr., and Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs, San Antonio Division, announced the sentencing. The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorneys Matthew Watters and Goran Krnaich on behalf of the Government.
