Meth Deal Lands Huntington Man in Prison for 4 Years, 9 Months

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Kenard Jerlonnie Moore, 41, of Huntington, is headed to the big house for a long time after being sentenced to four years and nine months in prison for distribution of a quantity of a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Moore sold approximately 16 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Huntington on September 28, 2023. Moore had no problem admitting to the transaction and even confessed that he arranged the deal when the confidential informant contacted him earlier that day.

United States Attorney Will Thompson praised the investigative work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and thanked them for their efforts in bringing Moore to justice.

United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers imposed the sentence, which will be followed by three years of supervised release. Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie Taylor prosecuted the case.

Moore’s sentence is a harsh reminder of the consequences of getting caught up in the methamphetamine trade.
