Manitowoc Man Indicted in Child Porn Case

⏱ 3 min read

Brandon Lemerond, 20, of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is staring down a long stretch in federal prison after being indicted on a slew of charges related to child pornography. Authorities allege Lemerond possessed and produced obscene material depicting the sexual abuse of children during several dates in July 2025. The indictment also claims he committed these offenses while already a registered sex offender, a significant aggravating factor.

The Eastern District of Wisconsin U.S. Attorney’s Office hit Lemerond with two counts of obscene visual depictions of the sexual abuse of children, one count of production of child pornography, and three counts of committing a felony while registered as a sex offender. The feds aren’t messing around – the charges carry some serious mandatory minimums.

If convicted on the child obscenity counts, Lemerond faces a minimum of 15 years behind bars and up to 40. Production of child pornography carries a mandatory minimum of 25 years, with a maximum sentence of 50 years. And for violating the terms of his sex offender registration, he’s looking at an additional 10 years on top of whatever else he gets. He could also be slapped with a $250,000 fine and potentially a lifetime of supervised release after serving his time.

The Manitowoc Police Department led the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Humble is prosecuting the case. It’s part of the Justice Department’s ongoing “Project Safe Childhood” initiative, a nationwide effort to crack down on child sexual exploitation. As with all indictments, Lemerond is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
